Manak Media LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Blinder mobile application ("App"). We are the data controller of your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use Blinder. By using our App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Please read it carefully before using our services.

We are committed to protecting your personal data and ensuring its confidentiality and security.

1. Information We Collect

When creating and using your Blinder profile, we collect:

Profile Information:

Name, age (date of birth), and gender

Profile photos and "About Me" descriptions

Answers to profile questions

Preferences:

Match preferences including age range, gender, and distance radius

Account Information:

Login credentials (or authentication via Google or Apple Sign-In)

Sensitive Information (Voluntary):

Data related to sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or other self-reported characteristics that you choose to provide

Messages you send to other users

Reports or feedback you submit to us

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use Blinder, we automatically collect:

Device Information:

Device model and manufacturer

Operating system and version

App version

Unique device identifiers

Usage Information:

Features you use and actions you take

Profiles you view and swipe activity

Match and messaging activity

Session duration and frequency

Time and date of your activities

Diagnostic Information:

Crash reports and error logs

App performance data

1.3 Location Information

We collect your ZIP code during profile creation to:

Show your general location (city/area) to potential matches

Calculate approximate distance for matching within your preferred radius

Filter matches based on geographic proximity

We do NOT collect:

Precise GPS coordinates

Real-time location tracking

Your exact address or specific location data

Your location is obfuscated to approximately 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) accuracy to protect your privacy. Your city/area is visible to other users as part of your profile.

1.4 Push Notification Data

When you enable push notifications, we collect:

Device token (a unique identifier for delivering notifications to your device)

Device model and operating system version

Your notification preferences

Device tokens are associated with your account and are deleted when you sign out or delete your account.

1.5 Information from Third Parties

If you choose to log in using Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from these services as authorized by you.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

Create and manage your account

Match you with other users based on your preferences

Enable messaging between matched users

Deliver push notifications about matches and messages

Display your profile to potential matches

For Safety and Security:

4. Photo Processing and Content Moderation

Profile photos are automatically processed using AI-powered content moderation to ensure compliance with our community guidelines. This includes:

Automated scanning for inappropriate or prohibited content

Image analysis for safety and authenticity

Review of photos that require manual moderation

Photos that violate our guidelines may be rejected or removed. We do not use facial recognition for identity verification purposes.

5. How We Share Your Information

We may share your personal data with:

Other Users:

Information you include in your profile (name, age, photos, location, preferences) is visible to other users

Messages are shared with your matched users

Service Providers:

Third-party vendors necessary to operate the App (as listed in Section 3)

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data

Legal Authorities:

When required by law, court order, or governmental request

To protect the safety of our users or the public

To investigate potential violations of our terms

Business Transfers:

In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed for legitimate business purposes.

When you delete your account:

Profile information, photos, and preferences: Deleted within 30 days

Matches and conversations: Removed from active database

Device tokens: Deleted immediately

Some data may be retained in anonymized form for safety investigations

Certain records may be retained longer for legal compliance (fraud prevention, safety reports, legal disputes)

Cached data: Information cached on other users' devices (such as your profile photo) may persist until their app refreshes.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

Encryption of data in transit and at rest

Secure authentication mechanisms

Server-side enforcement of access controls

App authenticity verification using Apple's App Attest

Regular security audits and monitoring

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Please use the App responsibly and avoid sharing sensitive personal information with unverified users.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access: Request a copy of your personal data

Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information

Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data

Restriction: Limit how we process your data

Portability: Receive your data in a portable format

Profile Visibility:

You can update or remove information from your profile at any time through the App settings.

Account Deletion:

You can delete your account at any time through the App settings. This will permanently remove your profile and associated data.

10. Children's Privacy

Blinder is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

During account creation, we verify age through date of birth. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and associated data.

11. International Data Transfers

Blinder is operated from the United States. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

By using Blinder, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission for such transfers.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

Right to Know: Request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal data we collect

Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal data

Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.

13. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons.

Notify you through the App or via email if changes are significant

14. Profile Photo Face Detection

When you upload a profile photo, our app uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect if a face is present in your photo. This helps ensure your profile photo clearly shows your face.

  • What we detect: Only the general location (bounding box) of faces in your photo

  • What we do NOT collect: Facial features, biometric identifiers, facial landmarks, or any data that could identify you

  • Processing location: All face detection occurs entirely on your device using Apple's built-in technology

  • Data storage: No face detection data is stored or transmitted to our servers

  • Retention: Face detection data exists only in device memory during photo validation and is immediately discarded
